Anthony Burrill and Maser In Conversation

The National Print Museum is delighted to bring together Anthony Burrill and Maser for a special conversation exploring typography, design, and the power of print.

While their practices are distinct, both artists share a deep connection to typography and graphic communication. Their collaborations with the National Print Museum, Hope by Anthony Burrill and Parallels by Maser, demonstrate how letterpress printing can be used to communicate timely and resonant social messages.

Working across public spaces, publishing, and design, Burrill and Maser have each developed a visual language that is both accessible and impactful. This conversation will explore their creative processes, the role of typography in shaping public dialogue, and the enduring relevance of letterpress as a medium for contemporary expression.

The talk will be followed by a drinks reception with a new print release and DJ set by Anthony Burrill.

Anthony Burrill is a graphic artist renowned for his ability to distil ideas into simple yet striking forms. Combining analogue craft with bold, optimistic messages, his work communicates with clarity and impact. Burrill frequently collaborates with forward-thinking practitioners across music, architecture, curation, education and beyond, extending the possibilities of his chosen medium, letterpress printing, into new and ambitious directions.

Maser is a Dublin-based artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans contemporary murals, installations, printmaking and exhibitions. Beginning in street art more than two decades ago, his work often explores themes of identity, place, and social connection, drawing from both personal experience and broader cultural narratives. His work has been exhibited extensively in Ireland and internationally, and he has produced large-scale murals, community art initiatives and events that activate shared public spaces.
