Shaw Pen Ruling Machine

Inspired by traditional looms, the Shaw Pen Ruling Machine produced three-colour line rulings on paper. Pens were set across a bar at the front of the machine and ink cloths were placed just above the pens. Often, a woman was employed to feed the paper while a man operated the machine, and the sheets moved over the long lines to the delivery box.
