Woodtype Poster Printing with Dave Darcy

During this workshop with Dave Darcy (One Strong Arm), participants will design, typeset, and produce a unique letterpress printed poster. The workshop will utilize the museum’s collection of wood types. It will be a hands-on experience, covering the fundamentals of letterpress printing techniques and some of the craft’s history and background. Beautiful results can be achieved by playing with the layout, ink effects, and the texture of the wood type. All stages including the inking will be done by hand… think big type, short words, and interesting textures.

Includes all materials and a break for lunch. This workshop is conducted on the ground floor of the Museum, which is wheelchair accessible via the Café entrance.

Price: €110

What People Are Saying
The experience in this museum was amazing! Better than I expected. It's really interesting to see so many different old print machines and how they worked. Our guide Liam made my day. He explained all the history to us. His English is so easy to understand. Also he is very kind and polite. I totally recommend a visit to this place.

The reviews say it all - excellent museum and Ciaran was a hoot. We enjoyed this museum immensely - probably the highlight of our few days in Dublin. Grabbed a takeaway coffee and smoothie from the neighbouring cafe which seemed very popular.
