Family Friendly Tours
Perfect for all ages, we have a family friendly edition of our classic guided tour. This tour is an interactive experience where all the family can discover the rich history of print while having fun together. You’ll compose your name in type, print a personalised poster to take home, and even make your very own printer’s hat!
Family tours run daily during school holidays and over the summer break. Check availability and learn more at the link below.

Creative Corner
Families and children can discover the creative world of printing every day at the National Print Museum’s Creative Corner, supported by the Aviva Stadium Community Fund. Creative Corner was handcrafted by a local artist, Andrew Clancy, and is situated on the mezzanine level of the Museum.
All activities are free, self-guided and encourage family learning and interaction. Activities include arts and crafts (ink stamping, stenciling, easy origami, drawing & colouring), alphabet games for the tiny tots, activity sheets and reading from our wonderful Junior Library. We run a number of themed drop-in events at Creative Corner.

PrintLab Workshops for Children
PrintLab workshops facilitate discovery of the traditional craft of letterpress printing using new technologies, empowering children and families to be creatively involved in hands-on activities and to experience the historical, social and contemporary relevance of printing as a tool for communication. PrintLab was launched in 2019 as part of the EU Creative Makers project.
Workshops are available for families and children aged from 4-12 years, and aim to enhance children’s learning experience at the Museum and reinvent the craft of letterpress for a new generation. LEGOpress, Word, Cut, Print! and CMY-Play are among the options of PrintLab workshops available. Workshops are offered during school breaks and occasionally during the summer. Check the link below for options and availability.

Demonstration Days
On demonstration days, the Museum becomes a hive of activity and the collection comes alive. Our volunteer panel of retired compositors and printers are on hand to demonstrate some of the more complex machines in the collection. Hear their stories of what life was like in the printing industry back in the day, and marvel at the craft and skill that was required to print even a simple piece of text! Demo days are often on during national holidays or festivals, and are free and open to the public.

Children’s Birthday Activity Tour
Looking for unique birthday party venue for that extra special child in your life? We offer an activity-based birthday tour for children aged 6-12 years. Partygoers will print their own posters to take home, make and decorate paper printer’s hats, and get a fun, interactive mini-tour of the Museum. The birthday child will also print a special poster announcing their name and age. The group is welcome to visit Creative Corner before or after the tour, and catering options at the café Press are also available.
The cost is €10 per child, with the birthday child free. Adults are welcome free of charge. Advance booking of at least 2 weeks is required for all birthday tours.
