Vandercook Proofing Press

Description

A metal proofing press used to check for errors in text before it is sent to be printed on a large scale. The galley of text or forme is inserted in the bed and a motor turns the rollers to evenly spread the ink. The operator can then insert the paper onto the cylinder by hand and turn the lever, rolling the paper over the forme and creating a single print.
