The Irish Independent Flong
Description
This flong would have been made from a front-page lock-up by applying a rubbery paper mixture to the lock-up's surface. When hardened, this flong could then be used to cast a type of metal printing plate called a stereotype cylinder. This cylinder could then be attached to a printing press to quickly print a large volume of copies of this page.
