Arab Platen Press

Description

Designed by Josiah Wade in the mid-1800s, the Arab press was marketed as one of the best hand-fed platen presses ever made. It was sold disassembled and could be easily put together and taken part again. Its name derives from rather generalising notions of the time that "Arab" people were hard-working and reliable. Foot operated press, rollers, wheel, pedal, wood bed.
