Workshop: Mokuhanga Japanese Woodblock Printmaking with Ann Kavanagh

95.00

Saturday 21 October or 18 November, 10:00-16:00
Max 6 people

In this workshop, you will learn the authentic fundamentals of Japanese woodblock printing. Participants will engage in a process that includes transferring their own design, carving, printing, and editioning their first print.

A simple design is important for your first print, and you will be shown the Kento mark for registration.  Watercolour, gouache, and Sumi ink will be used to print your images with a handheld baren rather than a press. This course is suitable for complete beginners and anyone with a little experience in relief printing, as well as for mixed abilities.

Cancellation policy: email admin@nationalprintmuseum.ie in the event of cancellation. We cannot provide refunds for cancellations made within 72 hours of the workshop.
