Description

This one day workshop focuses on black and white images and begins with experimental drawing and mark making using a variety of tools and materials. The drawings are developed into designs suitable for carving into birch plywood blocks. The carved woodblocks are then printed onto a variety of papers, producing a series of black and white prints 15 x 15 cm. Mokuhanga is an environmentally friendly ancient Japanese technique using water based inks and hand burnishing (no need for a printing press) making this an accessible method to continue at home. Suitable for complete beginners or those with some previous experience.

Sunday 14 October, 10.30 – 16.30, €80, Max. 6 people
