Outreach & Community

The Outreach Programme is an important aspect of the National Print Museum’s educational programming. It provides us with the opportunity to bring the mission of the Museum into the heart of the community. The Museum travels nationwide to bring our Pop-up Print Shop and workshops to various organisations and events such as libraries, schools, arts centres, festivals and corporate events.

We offer an open style event in the form of our Pop-up Print Shop, where people can learn about the Museum and receive a hands-on demonstration of letterpress printing. We can create special pre-set formes tailored to the specific event, which make beautiful keepsakes. Two children’s workshops are also on offer as part of the Museum’s Outreach programme – Printer’s Hat-making and Bookmaking. In addition, we offer activities developed through PrintLab, including P22 Blox with the Adana printing press, LEGO printing on the Provisional Press, or cutting and making stamps with the Sizzix machine. These workshops are suitable for children and adults alike.

Practical Information & Booking

The fee for each outreach event is reviewed on a case by case basis (e.g. type of organisation, day and time of event, etc.), and additional travel and accommodation costs will be included where necessary. All outreach locations must have a ground floor location (or large lift to upper floors) and parking for a 16ft hightop van. Travel to the outreach location is subject to weather conditions. We recommend at least 8 weeks notice for all outreach requests. Submit a request via the form below.
