Print Workshops and Demonstrations for Culture Night
This Culture Night, drop into the National Print Museum for an evening of hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, and a journey through printing history.
Learn how the printing press, invented in 1439 by Johannes Gutenberg, changed the world. View an original 1916 Proclamation, Ireland’s most important historical printed document, and marvel at the artefact’s fascinating story of production. The main collection is not behind glass or rope, but is instead an example of a working collection. The Museum will come to life as the Chapel of retired printers and compositors demonstrate the printing presses and machines of our living collection.
Try your hand at pulling your own print in drop-in workshops (fun for all ages!) and explore the acclaimed exhibition Poster Boys: The Work of Kevin Scally and Brendan Foreman for the Abbey Theatre.
Free, drop-in.
