Letterpress Workshop with Anthony Burrill

Create your own letterpress print from the Museum’s woodtype collection, under the expert guidance of Anthony Burrill. Guided through the press by Mary Plunkett, you’ll print a small edition of your single-colour print.

Anthony Burrill is a graphic artist renowned for his ability to distil ideas into simple yet striking forms. Combining analogue craft with bold, optimistic messages, his work communicates with clarity and impact. Burrill frequently collaborates with forward-thinking practitioners across music, architecture, curation, education and beyond, extending the possibilities of his chosen medium, letterpress printing, into new and ambitious directions.

Mary Plunkett is a graphic designer and printmaker who specialises in letterpress. She designs and prints her own work at her workshop, the Belgrave Private Press, and enjoys collaborating with other artists, writers and designers. Her work is in the collections of the National Library, Trinity College, UCD, The British Library, Boston College Library and NIVAL. As of May this year, Mary has stepped into the role of Letterpress Learning Officer at the National Print Museum thanks to funding from the Heritage Council. She joined the staff in 2019 as the Education Officer, having been involved in several projects since 2012.
